Bodegas Martín Códax

Martín Códax was a 13th-century joglar (minstrel) from Galicia, whose seven surviving poems are among the most important examples of Galician-Portuguese writing. His romantic poems are heavily imbued with coastal imagery, and today's winemakers share this passion for sharing their culture. In 30 years, the cooperative has grown from 50 grapegrowers to over 300 families. They were integral to the recognition of the Rías Baixas DO in 1988, and have been setting the benchmark ever since.
