Tasting note
Deep and intense colour with violet highlights. High intensity and very clear on the nose. Ripe red fruit, jam, plum, gooseberries, all well balanced with fresh, honest and direct oaky notes such as vanilla and mocha with intense roasted notes. Palate: broad and round with a very well-integrated tannin which helps to the volume and structured mouthfeel.
Viticulture
100% Mencía made from selected grapes from vines, most over 60 years old, from vineyards located in hillside areas of the best places in Bierzo.
Vinification
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. 2-3 months in french and american oak barrels
Food Match
Versatile wine which perfectly pairs with stewed and roasted meats, small game, carpaccio, cured meats, pasta, roasted vegetables and goat cheese.
