Viognier

Rich, floral, and full-bodied, Viognier is known for its intoxicating aromas of peach, honeysuckle, and exotic spice. In Condrieu, it achieves remarkable balance, combining opulence with minerality. New World expressions, particularly from California and Australia, are often riper, showcasing apricot, vanilla, and a plush mouthfeel. Naturally low in acidity, it leans toward softness, but the best examples retain freshness to counterbalance its weight. Often aged in oak, it gains layers of complexity, though its floral exuberance remains at the forefront. A wine of texture and fragrance, Viognier is best enjoyed with creamy sauces, seafood, and aromatic dishes.
