Pinot Gris

Often a richer and more textured counterpart to Pinot Grigio, Pinot Gris can produce full-bodied white wines with ripe stone fruit, spice, and floral complexity. Alsace is home to some of the finest examples, where it develops notes of honeyed pear, baked apple, and ginger. It can range from dry and structured to opulent, late-harvest styles with residual sweetness. Compared to Pinot Grigio, it has a deeper color, fuller mouthfeel, and greater aging potential. In Oregon, Pinot Gris strikes a balance between freshness and richness, offering vibrant acidity with orchard fruit and floral nuances. A versatile grape with remarkable depth and character.
