Tasting note
Lush and generous Riesling with rounded tropical fruits given definition by tangy gooseberry and a breath of smoke and flint, with a fragrance of orange zest on the finish.
In the press
A cornucopia of delicate stone-fruit and floral aromas, plus a touch of ripe melon. A very concentrated and tightly wound wine with great crushed-rock minerality that expands and expands on the super-ripe and silky finish. Just doesn’t want to stop!
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes were macerated for a short time (15-18 hours) before pressing. This step achieved very clear and highly aromatic juice, adding more intensity to the wine. Fermentation and maturation was mostly in large, old oak barrels (50-70 years old) for 19 months.
Food Match
The balance of freshness and richness give some exciting possibilities. Try it with grilled fish with exotic salads, or lightly roasted roasted beef with lemon garlic marinade.
