Beaujolais

Between the Bourgogne vineyards of Macon and the the Northern Rhone lies Beaujolais, a region famed for its light, fruity reds. Vineyards are almost entirely planted with Gamay – a thin-skinned grape with low tannin - from which Beaujolais' refreshing fruit-forward wines are produced. Village level wines and Cru wines offer a qualitative step-up for connoisseurs, and the region is also famed for the Beaujolais Nouveau, a very fruity style bottled soon after harvest and released the same year in November.
