Tasting note
Pretty, approachable Riesling from a well-respected producer, brimming with apples and peaches and boasting a wonderful bouquet of wildflowers.
Viticulture
Tesch boasts 18 ha of vineyards near Laubenheim and Langenlonsheim, with 35+ year-old south-facing vines at 160m elevation, yielding expressive Riesling. Diverse soils from sandstone to volcanic rock, natural pest control methods ensure quality.
Vinification
Sorted, destemmed, 4-8 hr skin-contact before pressing. Fermentation in wild + cultured yeast, 12-15 °C for 40 days in steel tanks. 6-12 weeks on lees w/battonage.No oak ageing. 'Unplugged' Riesling-filtered, bottled.
