Tasting note
Very, very moreish, with irresistible lime and tangerine sorbet notes on the nose, and a tiny hint of beeswax to remind you that it’s Riesling. On the palate, light-textured and star-bright, crystalline and fresh, with delicate suggestions of lemongrass, chervil and honey. It’s dry and crisp, yet soft-textured – a little reminiscent of Albariño from Galicia or Vinho Verde. Juicy-delicious, with a refreshing spritzy tingle on the tongue.
Vinification
The grapes come from vineyards in the Nahe region, whose climate is ideal for growing expressive Riesling. The sloping vineyards face South at an altitude of 160-190 metres above sea level. The vines average 35 years old. Fermented entirely in stainless steel.
Food Match
A truly noble variety and one that is surprisingly adaptable to many different styles of food ranging from fish to poultry.
