Tasting note
Rich, vibrant and perfumed with classic cool climate Pinot Gris aromatics of ripe yellow pear and ginger spice. The palate is plump and juicy, yet refined, elegant and dry.
Viticulture
Sourced from our our clay-rich Raupo Creek vineyard, which has a gentle north-west facing aspect, settled in the centre of the Omaka Valley. This vineyard is managed following Organic and Biodynamic principles. Our Pinot Gris was cropped between 9 and 10 tonnes/ha.
Vinification
Fruit was picked early to preserve freshness, then gently pressed without crushing and settled overnight. It was racked with light lees to 40% neutral barriques and 60% tank for wild fermentation. The barrique portion aged on lees for three months, completed malolactic fermentation, then was blended, filtered and bottled.
