Tasting note
Intense red colour with rich purple tones. Intense and elegant nose with prominent notes of fresh red fruits. Deep flavour profile featuring very present, well-structured tannins. From each estates a particularly expressive barrel was chosen to be blended together to create a unique wine of great depth, concentration and powerful tannic structure. Douro Boys Cuvée unites virtues of 5: structured of Vallado, freshness of Niepoort, enchanting fruit of Crasto, the minerality of V.D. Maria and the captivating body of Meão.
Unique Selling Point
A rare collaboration between four family-owned Douro wine producers: Quinta do Crasto, Quinta do Vallado, Niepoort and Quinta do Vale Meão.
Vinification
Each producer chose particularly expressive wines from the 2017 harvest from their cellar and brought them to the blending sessions. Owners and winemakers sat together for tastings and discussions. It took three nights of hard work until they agreed on the best and most complex – powerful yet elegant, deep yet refreshing – final batch.
