Tasting note

The Kirschgarten Grosses Gewächs ('Cherry Garden' Grand Cru) boasts a juicy cherry aroma with hints of strawberry leaves. This Pinot Noir offers a delightful blend of cherry, strawberry, and a touch of smokiness. Enjoy now or over the next five years.

Viticulture

The Kirschgarten (Cherry Garden) site was first documented in 1654, on the edge of Laumersheim village. An exceptionally-sheltered site, protected from westerly winds by an embankment and houses. The soil is composed of moisture-retaining clay over limestone bedrock.

Vinification

100% Pinot Noir from the Kirschgarten Grand Cru, hand-harvested into small crates, fermented on the skins and aged around 20 months in new French oak barriques.

Food Match

Pheasant, venison or mushroom dishes.
