Tasting note
Elegant and aromatic, with fragrant notes of white peach, ripe pear, orange blossom and honeysuckle, complemented by delicate hints of sage, lime and honey. The palate is gently sweet and beautifully rounded, balanced by lively acidity and a delicate natural sparkle. Silky and expressive, with a long, refreshing finish that captures the charm and finesse of Piedmontese Moscato.
Viticulture
100% Moscato Bianco grown on the Moncucco hillside in Santo Stefano Belbo, Piedmont, at approximately 220–320 metres above sea level. Guyot-trained vines thrive in calcareous marl soils, with varied exposures and steep slopes encouraging aromatic concentration and freshness. Grapes are hand-harvested in late August and early September.
Vinification
Hand-harvested grapes are partially destemmed and undergo 12 hours of cold skin maceration at 5°C to enhance aromatic intensity. Gentle pressing extracts the free-run juice, which is cold-settled before fermentation at 18°C. Fermentation is stopped at 5.5% alcohol, retaining natural sweetness. The wine matures on fine lees to develop texture and complexity.
Food Match
A very appealing drink on its own, it is the ideal wine to be served with many kinds of sweet dishes, particularly when they have a fine, delicate flavour.
