    Tempranillo Blanco

A natural mutation of Spain’s iconic Tempranillo, Tempranillo Blanco was discovered in Rioja in the late 20th century. It produces aromatic, full-bodied white wines with flavors of green apple, pear, and citrus, often complemented by floral and tropical notes. Naturally high in sugar and acidity, it is well-suited to both fresh and barrel-aged styles. When aged in oak, it develops richness and complexity, sometimes resembling a cross between Viura and Chardonnay. Though relatively new, it has gained popularity for its ability to produce structured, flavorful whites that reflect Rioja’s terroir, adding diversity to the region’s white wine offerings.
