Tasting note
A unique blend which really works, revealing nuances not apparent in the single-variety wines. It's forward, easy-going and highly drinkable, with a delicious roasted tomato / red pepper note. The texture is mellow and harmonious, and it is less ‘in your face’ than the Carmenere Gran Reserva, with good palate length.
Vinification
Grapes from three vineyards of the Elqui Valley were hand-picked, de-stemmed and crushed separately. Some of the Carmenere was first air-dried before adding to the Syrah and the rest of the Carmenere. After ageing in barrels (40% of the volume for 6 months) and stainless steel, the were blended three months before bottling.
Food Match
Best served with grilled or roaste red meats such as lamb.
