Tasting note
A juicy and rounded, silky-smooth Chardonnay, with mellowed fruit character and an impression of sweetness. The oak is very delicately-applied: there's just enough of it to identify this as Chardonnay, but it's very much in the background. Irresistibly relaxed, easy-drinking wine.
In the press
93/100 - A lovely chardonnay with attractive creaminess on top of the fresh pineapple and lemon aromas. A hint of nougat as well. Medium-bodied on the palate, with bright acidity and a lengthy finish. A small percentage goes through malolactic fermentation. Fermented and aged in oak barrels. Drink now or hold.
Vinification
100% Chardonnay, grown on double-Guyot pruned vines, and harvested and selected by hand. Grapes, juice and wine are conveyed within the winery by gravity, for gentle processing. Fruit de-stemmed and pressed, before fermentation at between 16°C and 21°C. Matured 10 months in 98% French oak barrels and 2% WineGlobe.
