Tasting note
With a saturated, inky black colour and vivid crimson rim, the Expresión Reserve Syrah has irresistibly alluring aromas of blackberry pips, clove, blackcurrant fruit pastilles and woodsmoke. The palate shows a marvellous balance of intensity and freshness, with delicious, spiced black fruit character, violets and lilies.
Vinification
100% Syrah from vines on clay-loam soils in the Casablanca Valley. Fruit is both harvested and selected by hand. Cold maceration for 7 days, then fermentation for 10 days at 28-30°C and extended maceration for a further 7 days. Malolactic conversion, then matured for 12 months in 65% oak barrels and 35% stainless steel vats.
