Tasting note
Top-tier Gewürztraminer, so fragrant with roses, lychees and spice it can seem slightly sweet, although it isn't.
Viticulture
Grown on vines over 50 years old in coteaux, in the Ribeauvillé locality of Trottacker with deep clay-limestone soil; in the Bergheim locality of the Gruenspiel on Keuper marls; and in Hunawihr locality of the Muehlforst with marl-limestone soil on shell limestone substrate of the Muschelkalk. Exposures South and South-East.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at maturity then crushed and delicately pressed in a pneumatic press. Vinified in a dry style in stainless steel vats and old casks. No malolactic fermentation, or long ageing on lees in order to preserve freshness, liveliness and fruity aromas. Bottled in spring, then 2 years of ageing minimum in the cellar.
Food Match
Enjoy with goose foie gras, spicy and aromatic dishes, Asian cheeses and fresh fruit-based desserts
