Tasting note
The nose is concentrated and complex, of sumptuous black fruit laced with savoury, smoky, coffee, green pepper and graphite dust notes. Succulent, suave and full-bodied, with masses of tannin which is so fine-textured as to be barely noticeable. It may be imperfect, but it comes across as flawless. An exceptional wine.
In the press
95/100 - Deep and fresh nose with fine concentration and texture. Blueberries, crushed violets, dark spices and a hint of cocoa powder. Round and full-bodied on the palate with juicy berries and polished, chalky tannins. Juicy and supple in the middle, but really focused in the finish. 97% malbec and 3% whole-cluster cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

Vineyards located in Gualtallary.
Vinification
97% Malbec and 3% whole-bunch Cabernet Franc, from the extreme high-altitude Gualtallary sub-district, whose vineyards reach 1,600m elevation, beneath the Mt. Tupongato volcano. Intense sunlight, poor soils with high lime content, and cold night-time temperatures lead to full ripeness contrasted with bright acidity. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels.
