Tasting note
Intense black fruits, plum and blueberry aromatics give way to layers of dark chocolate, licorice and warm spices while hints of charcuterie add extra complexity. The fine oak tannins focus in on the palate, driving a line of dark, rich fruit before relaxing in confident fashion to unveil savoury complexity and a long finish.
Viticulture
Sourced from Block K of the treasured Wilksch Vineyard in Marananga, these magnificent old vines (65 yrs old) are meticulously pruned to ensure vitality and healthy balanced growth. The depleted ironstone soils ensure that vigour is controlled, driving the vines to produce a small crop of intensly flavoured fruit.
Food Match
A fitting centre piece to accompany rich and flavoursome meat dishes, would also pair nicely with a selction of fine hard cheeses.
