Tasting note
Richly aromatic with dark cherry, violet and mocha, our Marlborough Pinot Noir is graced with juicy fruit flavours and a silky, comforting finish. Not just another red, this is one to sit with and savour.
Viticulture
The 2024 vintage was one of the best we’ve seen. The summer was consistently hot, dry and windy, delivering a smaller crop with immaculate fruit and lots of flavour. The perfect conditions meant picking fruit at full ripeness, and the cooler evenings retained acidity.
Vinification
After harvest, the fruit was cold-soaked for around five days to extract flavour, tannins, and colour. Fermentation followed in small, open-top tanks, Each ferment was plunged daily. The wine was left to macerate before being gently pressed. The wine under went malolactic fermentation while aging in oak. The final blend includes 20% new oak.
Food Match
This Pinot Noir is smooth and elegant enough to pair with lighter meats like chicken, but complex enough to complement richer red meat or game.
