Full-bodied Rioja, packed with cherries and heady with flower petals, the whole given depth and seriousness by whiffs of tobacco, cedar and toasty oak.

In the press
92/100 - A delicate vintage marked by good acidity and fluidity. Lively red and blue fruits with some subtle sweet spices. The tannins are firm and fresh with medium body and a long but elegant finish. A clear reflection of the year. 100% tempranillo. Delicious now or hold.
Vinification
100% Tempranillo, exclusively from the Sierra Cantabria estate. Fruit is de-stemmed and fermented with native yeasts, then aged 17 months in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels. 20% new oak, the remainder seasoned with one, two or three previous vintages.
Food Match
Ribs and sausages, roasted lamb, cured pork, and griled vegetables. Mushrooms, spices and Shepherds pies. Moussaka and red peppers, Manchego cheese.
