Tasting note
Black plum and blackberry with red fruit and a hint of graphite on the finish. Elegant and plush with sweet, beautifully integrated tannins and a lengthy finish.
Viticulture
Meticulously managed estate fruit from low yielding blocks in our To Kalon Vineyard; 4x4 and VSP trained vines; sustainable vineyard management practices, vineyard in process of being organic certified.
Vinification
Temperatures were moderate and the weather optimal at bud break in April and bloom in May. Weather remained even through summer and harvest, resulting in a lower-than-average yield of small, deeply concentrated grapes. The fruit was hand-harvested between September 14 and October 14. The final blend was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (100% new).
