Tasting note
Serious Rioja but made in the modern style; structured but approachable, with layers of ripe plum and blueberry and a fine wisp of tobacco on the nose.
Viticulture
In 2010, ideal weather fostered optimal growth and health throughout the cycle. Despite slight delays in flowering and fruit set, we harvested medium-size clusters with exceptional ripeness and superb health. The dry, sunny weather led to a bountiful harvest in October 2010.
Vinification
2 days cold maceration, and a short fermentation over 8 days. Final 9 days maceration on the skins. 36 months ageing in American oak from Ohio, Missouri.
Food Match
It pairs well with roast lamb, red meats and richly sauced dishes.
