Tasting note
Deep and lively ruby red colour with a complex aroma of red fruit, plum, and spicy notes of cloves and cinnamon. On the palate, it boasts rich flavours with a smooth and velvety texture.
Vinification
On arrival at the winery, old-vine grapes were rigorously sorted, gently crushed, and foot-trodden in traditional stone lagares . Fermentation was halted by fortification with grape spirit . Ageing 4 years in 9000 litres oak vats and bottled without fining or filtration.
Food Match
With its long and persistent finish, this port pairs exceptionally well with strong cheeses, dark chocolates, and even spicy dishes. This is an exceptional wine that will please both novice and experienced drinkers.
