Tasting note
Perfumed with plums and blackberries plus a red forest fruits and a scattering of spice, this is textured and undeniably powerful, yet elegant.
In the press
A polished, layered red with plum, chocolate, walnut and bark character. It’s full and intense with a long, flavorful finish. Slate and stone undertones. Touriga nacional, tinta roriz, touriga franca and sousao.
Viticulture
Vines are planted with an aspect of East / North in the Vinha ao alto vineyard (rows of vines planted up and down the slope) and patamares (terraces with one and two rows of vines). The soil is schist.
Vinification
12 months in 225 litres French oak barrels.
Food Match
Will work well with any rich foods, especially roast beef, or try with some spicy pasta, for something different.
