Viticulture
The grapes come from experimental plantings of Syrah established in 2004 at Quinta da Cabreira in the Douro Superior sub-region. In the Douro valley, vineyards are planted in Patamares (terraces) and vinha ao alto (rows of vines planted up and down the slope). The aspect is east/north and the vines are 11 years old. The soil is schist.
