Tasting note
This beguiling light red, from Sicily's only DOCG (the top quality designation), is unlike any other wine: furiously energetic, full of wild strawberries, mulberries and pomegranates, with a scattering of black pepper and a squeeze of sweet cherry juice.
Viticulture
Sicily’s only DOCG, Cerasuolo di Vittoria blends Nero d’Avola and Frappato from the Dorilli countryside between the sea and the Iblean Mountains. Bright cherry, strawberry and pomegranate aromas reflect its unique terroir, while the palate is fresh, vibrant and beautifully balanced, combining tradition with charm.
Vinification
Destalking followed by 14 days lying on the skins, fermentation at 23⁰C in stainless steel vats; particularly soft pressing with basket press (vertical press), followed by maturation in steel vats
