Tasting note
Dark cherry, blueberry, and raspberry intertwine with chocolate, delicate spices, and earthy graphite. 'Eastside' boasts silky texture, medium weight, and vibrant fruit. Aniseed and charred oak notes enrich depth. The finish is balanced, with enduring yet gentle tannins that harmonize with the lively fruit core.
Viticulture
An extremely good red vintage for Clare, slightly warmer than average, but vineyards achieved a great balance of fruit and acid. As a single vineyard wine, Eastside is an excellent showcase for the unique style of shiraz grown from Pikes Polish Hill River Estate.
Vinification
Wild Fermented in open vats using compressed air for gentle cap management to ensure a healthy fermentation without over extraction.
