Tasting note
Ruby red colour, with violet hues. Very intense nose. At first, pleasant notes of vanilla, coming from the aging, sweet. Then spices: white pepper, bay leaf and nutmeg. Black fruit. Full mouthfeel, great balance, with very good volume and intensity.
Vineyard
Old vines in vase from Rioja Alvavesa, subzone of Sonsierra and Alto Najerilla, where varieties of different types of soils are mixed between clay-carcareous and more ferrous soils, with different microclimates.
Viticulture
A careful selection of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano grapes from the coolest areas of Sonsierra and Alto Najerilla. Destemmed without crushing, followed by fermentation in concrete tanks to preserve fruit purity. Aged for 12 months in both French and American oak barrels.
Vinification
Destemmed, without crushing, cold pre-fermentation maceration for 5 days. Alcoholic fermentation for 10 days at controlled temperature. Subsequent malolactic fermentation in concrete.
