Tasting note
Serious Californian red with powerful aromas of sage, fire-roasted meats and the local underbrush known as chaparral, followed by blackcurrants, boysenberries and black cherries in the mouth, all freshened by a pervading minerality.
Viticulture
Sourced from hand-picked vineyards across the various Napa Valley AVAs, this vintage of Papillon epitomizes the house style at Orin Swift: accessible, powerful and complex. The label is a photograph taken by good friend and fellow winemaker, Greg Gorman.
Vinification
Aged 16 months in French Oak, 40% new.
