Tasting note
Elegant Bordeaux blend from Stellenbosch in South Africa, luring the curious with scents of almonds, caramel and vanilla, then completing the seduction with blackberry sweetness and rounded plum in the mouth.
In the press
92/100 - This shows notes of blackcurrants and blackberries, together with cocoa, cloves, licorice and cedar. Medium- to full-bodied with a creamy texture and a plush, polished tannin structure. Lots of ripe black fruit on offer, with a lingering finish that shows notes of sweet tobacco and earth. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. Sustainable. Drink or hold.
Vinification
This wines spends 18 months with 100% barrel maturation in 300 oak from French Coopers.
Food Match
Most young bold Bordeaux blends pair well with something hearty. Big flavours abound, and team well with a prime piece of beef or lamb, accompanied by something creamy.
