Tasting note

The wine presents a bright golden hue with fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it reveals aromas of summer flowers and ripe fruit, with delicate honeyed notes emerging upon aeration. The palate is rich with dense, pulpy white fruit, leading to a refreshing, slightly lemony finish.

Viticulture

Covering 350 hectares of exceptional vineyard sites in the heart of Champagne, Montaudon is crafted by families of dedicated winegrowers supported by expert winemakers. Each cuvée reflects authenticity and terroir, highlighting the house’s signature black grape varieties Pinot Noir and Meunier.

Vinification

The grapes are hand-picked and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The blend consists of 75% black grapes (Pinot Noir and Meunier) and 25% Chardonnay, including 35% reserve wines. With a dosage of 11 g/L, the wine is aged for 18 months or more in cellars to achieve balance and complexity.

Food Match

This Cuvée Charles Barr from Montaudon will be wonderful with foie gras with figs, an aumônière of ashy goat cheese, or as a dessert with a pear crumble.
