Tasting note
A Malbec-dominant blend supported by Cabernet Sauvignon for structure and Petit Verdot for lift and spice, this wine opens with expressive aromas of black cherry compote, violets, and coastal bushland. The palate is plush and vibrant, layered with mulberries, sweet spice, and savoury hints of liquorice and mocha.
Viticulture
Sourced from Hazel’s Vineyard—our southernmost estate site—and fruit from our trusted grower at Celestial Bay, this blend brings together two distinct expressions of Margaret River.
Vinification
Whole berry fermentation in concrete was used to preserve aromatics and lift perfume. Gentle extraction saw each batch spend two to three weeks on skins before pressing to French oak barriques (20% new). After 14 months in barrel, parcels were blended and bottled in Spring 2023.
