Tasting note
A lovely aromatic Sauvignon Blanc with notes of ripe fruit, pink grapefruit and citrus. The 2025 vintage has lovely classic Sauvignon aromas backed up with lovely acidity and weight on the palate. A sunny vintage reflected in the glass.
Vineyard
Most of the vineyards that provide the grapes for this classic Sauvignon Blanc come from parcels that fall into the recently created geographic demonimation of Touraine-Oisly. This is the area of the Loire where Sauvignon Blanc was first planted after Phylloxera in 1905 and recognised as the origin of some of the best Sauvignons in the Loire.
Viticulture
Lionel's vineyards are sustainably farmed. No pesticides have been used for many years and he works the grass under the vines using an electric robot. Pruning is careful to limit yield and ensure quality.
Vinification
Grapes are pressed and are then transferred into a stainless steel tank where the juice undergoes a cold maceration for around 4 weeks before a cool fermentation. It then stays on the fine lees until bottling in the spring.
Food Match
Delicious drunk alone as an aperitif, it also matches superbly with asparagus, salads, cheeses (goat's cheese and Feta in particular), mediterranean cuisine, roasted veggies, chicken with tarragon and seafood. It's also great with sushi.
