ExpressionDelicate & Light Rose

Tasting note

Delicate, pale pink colour, with a gorgeous perfume of summer berries, white peach and rose petals. Dry and refreshing, it has a fabulous, satiny texture, fresh acidity and delicate flavours of pink grapefruit, red cherry and subtle spiciness.

In the press

You’ll need your wellies on to splash with this little rosé which is up to its chin in raspberry juice and feels a darn sight more full-bodied than 12% would lead anyone to believe. Put a chilled bottle of this on the table and I can guarantee it will disappear faster than it takes to count the pours.

Unique Selling Point

Wine is named Katharien after the Kleinood Owners' daughter.

Viticulture

Grapes were specifically grown to produce Rose wines. Vineyards on the boundry of the blocks are used and also bordering the gardens.

Vinification

Grapes are harvested in cool mornings, lightly crushed and pressed. Juice settles overnight, then is racked, with 550l per ton recovered for colour and texture. Three yeasts add complexity and depth. 10% ferments in older 500l barrels, the rest in stainless steel, before four months on lees prior to bottling.

Food Match

The Rosé 2022 will pair well with light salads, spicy seared tuna or light pastas.
