Tasting note
Elegantly balanced Cabernet, from a relatively cool site, showing restraint power with concentration. This wine displays notes of wood spice, earth, black and red currants, liquorice and tobacco leaf. It is full-bodied, has excellent purity and was bottled with no fining or filtration. Drink 2020 – 2030.
Viticulture
The legendary Farrow Ranch in Alexander Valley provides some of the best soil and growing conditions that Sonoma County has to offer.
Vinification
Native yeast fermentation (primary and secondary), unfined, unfiltered and un-acidified. 33% New French Oak, 33% 2nd Fill barrels, 33% Neutral barrels (Saury, Taransaud, Darnajou) 20 Months (unfined; 12 months sur lie).
