Tasting note
Wonderfully aromatic Meursault, a creamy palate with hazelnut butter, yellow plum and gingerbread complemented by floral notes of linden, chamomile and hawthorn and a hint of honey.
Viticulture
Located a few kilometers south of Beaune in the famed Côte des Blancs, Meursault features diverse soils, from deep village clay to rocky upper slopes. With a high density of 10,000 vines/ha and a low yield of 49 hl/ha, it extracts pure terroir. Rich in history, this ancient Burgundy site dates back to Neolithic and Gallo-Roman times.
Vinification
Pressing is very slow so as to respect fruit with only the free run juice being retained. No yeasts or enzymes are used. The wine goes directly into barrels after "débourbage" (decanting of white wine to reduce sediment). Ageing in barrels (25% in new oak) for 12 months.
Food Match
Pair this complex and refined wine with discerning matches; grilled lobster, King prawns sauteed in butter or aromatic dishes.
