Tasting note
This deep-coloured and deep-flavoured Gevrey-Chambertin is a beautifully faithful rendition of the appellation. With succulent damson and black cherry fruit character, it has fabulously sumptuous, velvety texture. Delicious, classic Burgundy made with a deft touch, itt is enjoyable now, and has the balance and structure to hold for a number of years.
In the press
93/100 - Attractively savory and earthy nose of mushrooms, wet earth, citrus peel and dark cherries. Some smoked paprika spiciness. Medium-bodied, with excellent weight for the vintage. Firm and focused. Drink or hold.
Vinification
The fruit is hand-picked into small crates, undergoes rigorous sorting, and is 100% de-stemmed. Fermented with native yeasts, combined with maceration on the skins for 2-3 weeks, depending on vintage characteristics. Matured 14-16 months in French oak barrels, of which 20-25% are first-fill.
Food Match
A layered and earthy wine with aromas of forest floor such as this bring to life rich dishes like saddle of lamb, bœuf bourguignon or coq au vin, and ripe cheeses
