Tasting note
A herbaceous nose provides a gentle accompaniment to strawberries and redcurrants on the palate, in this well-made Burgundian red.
Viticulture
On a Beaune hill, Drouhin's 1 ha estate practices biodynamic cultivation with "sélection massale" vines. Steep slope, chalky soil, South/South-East exposure. Low yields, 20% less than allowed, showcase nuanced terroir. Unique wine sourced from Joseph Drouhin estate and declassified Premier Crus.
Vinification
The grapes, mainly Pinot Noir, are carefully hand-harvested and gently destemmed before fermentation in temperature-controlled vats. Wines are often aged in French oak barrels, allowing the development of complexity, soft tannins, and the signature red fruit and earthy nuances of Côte de Beaune reds.
Food Match
Enjoy this wine with roast pork, sea-salted crackling and seansonal vegetables.
