Tasting note
Bright in ruby colour and a nose overflowing with raspberry, redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit character. On the palate, it is gentle-textured, fruity and refreshing, with light tannins and lovely elegance.
Viticulture
This wine is crafted from a dozen carefully selected appellations by Joseph Drouhin, representing the archetype of Bourgogne Pinot Noir. The vineyard, planted at 10,000 vines/ha on clay and limestone soils, is Guyot-pruned with yields kept low at 62 hl/ha to extract the fullest expression of the terroir.
Vinification
Maceration and vinification take 2 to 3 weeks and are initiated by indigenous yeasts. Maceration and fermentation temperatures under total control. Ageing is in stainless-steel vats (7 to 8 months). One to two-year old barrels are used for this wine.
Food Match
A light and elegant red, lovely to pair with vegetable terrine or roasted quail.
