Tasting note
Aromas of ripe red fruit intertwine with subtle smoky earthiness, creating a layered and inviting nose. The palate is supple and well-rounded, supported by integrated tannins that provide gentle structure. A smooth, elegant finish lingers, showcasing the wine’s balance between vibrant fruit and savoury depth.
Viticulture
This Pinotage is sourced from one of the oldest surviving bush-vine blocks in Franschhoek - a rare site that consistently delivers both distinctive volume and exceptional quality. The 2024 vintage has been noted for its small bunches, reduced crop yields and extraordinary flavour.
Vinification
Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, with punch-downs performed three times daily to ensure gentle yet thorough extraction of colour, flavour and fine tannins. Following fermentation, the wine was pressed off the skins and transferred to barrel for 12 months in a selection of French oak, of which 15% was new.
