Tasting note
Aromas of ripe stone fruit, white peach, and citrus peel are complemented by subtle smoky flint and well-integrated oak. The palate is rich and layered, with a creamy texture balanced by fresh acidity. Notes of citrus and gentle spice carry through to a refined, elegant finish.
Viticulture
This Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards in Franschhoek and Elgin. Elgin’s cool, elevated sites bring freshness and precision, while Franschhoek adds weight and ripe stone fruit. Diurnal shifts and careful canopy management ensure balanced acidity and excellent phenolic ripeness.
Vinification
Sourced from premium vineyards in Franschhoek and Elgin, half the fruit was destemmed and crushed, the rest whole-bunch pressed. After settling, fermentation began in stainless steel to 18° Balling, then moved to Austrian foudres and 500L French oak, where fermentation and maturation built complexity and texture.
