Tasting note
From some of California’s oldest vines, Gnarly Head Chardonnay is bold and bright, with mango, citrus and graham cracker aromas. Fuji apple, kiwi and citrus flavours bring a complex, tropical palate, medium body and rounded mouthfeel, finishing long and clean.
Vinification
Older vines yield fewer clusters but smaller berries with intense flavour. This Chardonnay was picked in the cool early morning, then gently warmed for fermentation. Mid-to-late harvest brings tropical fruit and fresh acidity, with some juice cold-settled in stainless steel and the rest fermented and aged in French and American Oak.
