Lots of red and black fruit accompanied by notes of tobacco leaf, spices and pepper.
Viticulture
De Martino, a pioneering Chilean family estate of Italian heritage, helped redefine the country’s wine scene with early-picked grapes, native yeasts and no new oak. Carbon neutral and three-time Winery of the Year, it champions terroir-led wines from great-value varietals to distinctive field blends.
Vinification
After selection and destemming, the grapes were transferred to tanks, where they underwent a cold maceration prior to fermentation with their native yeasts. The wine spent a total of 30 days in contact with the skins. The wine was aged for 15 months in used French oak barrels in order to give the wine some extra structure and complexity.
Food Match
A wide variety of red meats, such as beef, pastas, pizzas and cheeses.
