Tasting note
A juicy, full-flavoured Southern French red with loads of ripe blackberry and dark cherry fruit, backed up by liquorice, spice and subtle violet notes. Well rounded on the palate, it is generous with good freshness and soft tannins. A crowd pleaser with plenty of terroir character.
Viticulture
From the Agly Valley in the Roussillon, near Maury, where the vineyards sit on a mix of clay, schist and limestone. The dry, sunny Mediterranean climate gives plenty of ripeness and concentration, while the altitude and local conditions help retain freshness.
Vinification
The grapes are all hand-harvested, with fermentation at a controlled 20–25°C and gentle extraction to get good colour and flavour from the fruit. The wine is matured solely in stainless steel tank to keep the focus firmly on the ripe fruit and freshness.
Food Match
This is an very food-friendly red. The perfect BBQ wine! Pair with grilled steaks, lamb, sausages and roast pork, but equally try at home with burgers, stews and hearty Mediterranean dishes. Basically, anything with a bit of char, spice or richness.
