Tasting note
Gently fragrant on the nose, it shows more expression on the palate where the flavours of blackberries and plums are underpinned by attractive tobacco leaf notes. As the wine breathes, it reveals great fruit intensity and the aromas of the ‘maquis’ come to life, distinctly recognisable to the Léoube vineyards.
Viticulture
Nestled in a coastal bay in Provence, the Léoube estate lies in Cap Bénat, one of Europe’s most beautiful protected sites. Spanning 560 hectares with 4km of Mediterranean coastline, it includes 70 hectares of vineyards and 22 of olive groves. Certified organic and HVE, all farming is done by hand with sustainable, artisanal care.
Vinification
Slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation in oak, ageing in used French oak casks for a minimum of 24 months.
Food Match
Perfect wine to enjoy with traditional English dishes such as stew & Sunday roasts, all types of game meats & cheeseboards.
