Tasting note
Appellation Lunlunta shows a deep violet color with purple reflections. The nose offers concentrated aromas of ripe red and dark fruits with traces of vanilla and moca. The mouthfeel is rich and concentrated, with blueberries and blackberries notes and a touch of leather and cinamon. The finish presents well integrated supple tannins.
Viticulture
Lunlunta Alluvial origin. Loamy clay in the topsoil with 5 % surface stones. Sandy and loamy: 50% sand, 30 % silt, 20% clay. Subsoil composed of rounded rocks.
Vinification
This wine goes through an extensive cold maceration for some grape lots of 2-5 days at less than 50oF (10oC) to extract aromas. The juice is then fermented for around 8-14 days with a total maceration of approximately 3-10 days. Elevage: 11-13 months in 100% French Oak barrel. 15-35% new, second and third use barrels.
