Tasting note
Catena Malbec Appellation Agrelo is an elegant, smooth, slightly spicy Malbec with a deep texture and flavors that revealed a varietal personality.
Viticulture
Agrelo Vineyard: aluvial origin. Clay topsoil with rounded rocks on the bottom. 30% Clay - 40% Silt- 30% Sand.
Vinification
This wine goes through an extensive cold maceration of 2-6 days at less than 50oF (10oC) to extract aromas. The juice is then fermented for approximately 8-16 days with a total maceration of around 0-12 days. Elevage: 11-13 months in 100% French Oak barrel. 35% new barrels.
