Tasting note
The first impression is uncannily similar to white Burgundy - a fine, fresh, creamy nose, with delicate vanilla pod and French oak accents. The Gredos terroir and Albillo Real variety then take charge, with intriguing scents of fragrant alpine herbs. There is subtle richness on the palate, impeccably balanced by superb freshness, and leaving a delicious savour on the finish. Albillo Real produces a white wine with density in the mouth and unctuousness, due to its high glycerol content.
Unique Selling Point
Picarana is our white Pueblo or Comarca wine. 100 percent Albillo Real local grape. There is very little Albillo Real left in Spain. It is mostly located in Gredos and in the hottest villages and it's the result of a combination of all land plots, orientations and types of granites.
Vinification
Cold pre-fermentation (12 to 20 hours). Pneumatic press of 22 hectolitres, natural cleaning (24 hours) and it is moved to ferment with its thin less to used french oak barrel of 500, 600 and 700 litres light and medium toast. Ten months total aging.
