In the press
There are more herbal notes and the tannin from San Martín, less floral and more austere, with more structure and pungent tannins. 2020 is a year of quality and quantity, elegant and serious, with great balance and freshness, with fruit and complexity, hints of flowers, good length, finesse, chalky tannins... The wine feels superb; it's elegant in the style of 2016 and clearly a bargain for the price asked.
Vineyard
The small Garnacha vines that make up the estate give rise to Marañones. These vines are between 50 and 70 years old and maintain the traits of San Martin's viticultural history.
Viticulture
The slopes formed by the valley where they are located provide an excellent opportunity for organic viticulture, which we are working with, although this vintage is not yet certified. Harvest by hand in 12 kg boxes.
Vinification
The selected grapes arrived at the winery whole and were macerated with their own stems. Fermentation in French oak vats and in stainless steel tanks, making pigeage.Aged for 15 months on its own lees in foudres and French oak and concrete vats between 1,000 and 5,000 liters. Bottled in the spring of 2024.
